What was the aim of the app?
The brief required Appy Monkey to create an app that would enable staff to complete statutory training wherever they were located. The app required a game-type questioning format which was fun to use by supported the learning process. It also needed to feedback results to users so they could see how they fared. The app would let users know which areas they excelled in and which ones required improvement. If knowledge gaps were identified, companies and their staff could work on filling these. Results can be shared not only via a downloadable fire but through the CMS system in the app too.
What challenges did the brief present?
Few apps come without challenges for developers and WiK was no exception. Appy Monkey needed to deliver a seamless experience for users and ensure that the app was easy to navigate. Access to the test needed to be straightforward, and it needed to be easy for line managers to have the results fed back to them. There was a concern that some team members may fail to engage with the app as they may not have been familiar with the technology. The app also needed to offer a more engaging way of learning.
WiK branding and design
The logo for WiK needed to be both fun and appealing. We chose a colour scheme and fonts that reflected this. Bold colours were used within the app, which were contrasted with the light blue background. The gaming software was used to create WiK so a seamless experience could be provided to players.
